Before you purchase fish, you need to make sure you have all of the supplies you need. The supplies you need all depend on the type of fish you plan on having. If you have salt water fish, then you need to have the right amount of salt in the water.

Also, if you live in the city and use city water, you need to let it sit overnight before you use it, because the chlorine that is in there can kill the fish. When we lived in the city, we didn't take any chances, we purchased bottled water to use.

You can purchase aquarium fish in many different patterns and colors. Some come in white, green, purple, red and even blue. In many cases, the male is going to be brighter and have longer fins than the female. The more vibrant they are, the better they look as it can add even more appeal. In the end, don't forget about their food.
